DO YOU TRADE SERVICES?

HOW TO MAKE A FOOL PROOF WAY TO THE PERFECT SERVICE TRADES

We all know we are in the best industry because we can TRADE services. You can trade with a photographer, a massage therapist, a hairdresser, maybe even a gym membership?

I have done trades in all of these categories. They all went well! Unless I didn’t follow the correct steps of communicating before jumping right into it.

Communication is KEY to all relationships and even more importantly - TRADES.

Key steps to trading

  1. Establish what each provider will be offering.

  2. Decide how you will trade. This can either be dollar amount (a $700 photo-shoot equals about 8 fills), or by time (one hour of my time equals one hour of their time).

  3. Set up dates and appointments!

  4. Last but not least, BE HONEST and COMMUNICATE!!!! If you are feeling like you are getting the short end of the stick, tell them. If they are a the right person you want to be working with, they will want you to feel as equals and that not one is getting cheated.

Oh boy do I wish I could just trade for everything in the world! But not, sadly not everything accepts trades. Meaning, you still need to make some MULA! Before you start trading, make sure to set an exact number of trades you are open to doing. I am personally at my trade client capacity of 6. That is a high number, but that is what works for me. If you are working full time 4-6 trades are ok, and if you are working part time you may want to stay around 2-3 trades. Obviously use your best judgment about your work situation, just make sure you are not cheating yourself!

Now go out and get pampered!!!
